| dc.description.abstract | This study investigated the perceived effects of job evaluation on employee job satisfaction at Postal Corporation of Kenya in Nairobi County. The general objective of the study was to determine the perceived effect of job evaluation on employee job satisfaction. The study adopted a descriptive design. The guiding theories were motivation theories including expectancy and equity theories of motivation. The expectancy theory was specifically a reflection of what most employees would be expected to produce as well as what the employees themselves would expect to get back from their employer. Similarly, the equity theory focused on the rightful remuneration across various cadres with respect to the jobs at the corporation. The population of study comprised all employees of Postal Corporation of Kenya in Nairobi County. A stratified sample involving 3 categories of employees was used and data was collected using primary method by use of structured questionnaire. The data analysis technique included descriptive statistics involving the percentages, mean and standard deviation. To enhance the descriptive results, inferential analysis through regression analysis was applied to stabling correlations as well as relationships between dependent and independent variables. In its findings, various aspects of job evaluation were found not to be in favour of employee job satisfaction. The study found out that the deployments systems was as result of job evaluation similarly variety of responsibilities as well as support for additional training and educational resulted from job evaluation exercise. Employees were satisfied with the location and offers of vacation as well as increase in salary. | en_US |
