dc.description.abstractStudent satisfaction is an important means of assessing the institution’s capacity in meeting the students’ learning needs. The degree of student’s satisfaction with their educational experience is an important dimension in the assessment of institutional effectiveness. Understanding students’ perceptions and satisfaction is important in efforts to enrich the students’ learning experiences. The aim of the study was to identify the factors that influenced satisfaction with the training process among final year nursing students and use the identified factors to develop a standard tool for monitoring teaching and learning process in Kenya Medical Training College This was a descriptive correlational study that examined the relationship between the training institutional factors and the perceived level of satisfaction among the final year nursing students. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire, with open and close ended questions, focus group discussions with 8 students, using a focus group discussion guide in order to solicit students’ views and opinions and an observation checklist to appraise the teaching/learning environment. Using the content in the questionnaire, a standard tool for monitoring teaching and learning was developed for use in Kenya Medical Training College.
