The study is about knowledge management and performance of commercial banks in Nairobi. The objective of this study was to establish the influence of knowledge management on performance of commercial banks in Nairobi. This study employed a descriptive census research design. The target population was all the 44 commercial banks in Nairobi. A structured questionnaire was used in this study to collect primary data. Data was collected from all the 44 banks. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, frequencies and percentages. Further, simple linear regression analysis was used to determine the influence of knowledge management on performance of commercial banks. Based on the research findings, the study concludes that knowledge management is key in improving the performance of commercial banks in Nairobi. Knowledge management is ensured in the commercial banks by having a good system for capturing, collecting and transferring relevant knowledge. The use of proper channels for communications created an effective tool for knowledge management mean. Knowledge management enhanced product and service delivery in these commercial banks and ensured improved employee productivity as well as the overall performance of commercial banks. This study recommends that other organizations which have not embraced knowledge management should consider doing so in order to improve their productivity and performance. It is suggested that a similar study be done in both the public as well as the private sector in order to obtain generalizable results.en_US
