Response strategies adopted by Kenya commercial bank limited to a competitive environment
Abstract
This research was designed to investigate the response strategies adopted by Kenya Commercial
Bank Limited to a competitive environment. The study sought to achieve two objectives. The
first objectives was to identify the competitive forces facing Kenya Commercial Bank Limited,
and the second was establish the response strategies adopted by Kenya Commercial Bank
Limited in response to competition.
The data was collected from senior staff of the Bank namely the Chief Business Officer - Kenya,
Strategy and New Business Director and Marketing and Communications Director. These
respondents were considered to be resourceful in providing the required data since they are the
persons responsible for strategic management of Kenya Commercial Bank Limited. The
Interview guide served as a suggestive reference or prompter during the interviews and aided in
focusing attention on salient points. The interview guide questions covered general information
about Kenya Commercial Bank Limited, competitive forces facing the bank and the response
strategies that the bank has adopted together with respondent’s suggestions
