The environment in which organizations operate is constantly changing with different factors influencing the organizations. Since the turn of the millennium, the general business environment has become more volatile, unpredictable and very competitive. Coping with the increasingly changing environment has called on firms to rethink their response strategies (Pearce and Robinson, 2005). Changes in the business environment are leading to new and greater demands on strategic responses (Scholes, 2002). Pearce and Robinson (2005) say that there is need to adopt new strategies that match the challenges from the environment. Reengineering, downsizing, self-management and outsourcing are some of the dominant strategies that have been used for restructuring in the 1990‟s. This study is aimed at investigating the response strategies adapted by Commercial Bank of Africa LTD to changes in its environment. This was a case study since the unit of analysis is one organisation. Primary data was collected from the company staff by use of interview guides and content analysis was used to analyse the dataen
