The results of this study will be particularly important in designing more responsive interventions for alcohol-related behaviour towards better control of HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
This interesting finding involved a large sample size (1114 female commercial sex workers). geographical distribution (four provinces in the Philippines) and duration which were large enough for generalization.
The authors re-demonstrate the association between alcohol use amongst female sex-workers and clients and HIV/sexually transmitted disease risk.
