dc.description.abstractINTRODUCTION This is a hospital based descriptive prospective study aimed at determining the pattern, management and complications following treatment of patients seenwith keloids at Kenyatta National Hospital's Plastic Surgery out-patient clinicbetween July 2004 and January 2005. METHODOLOGY Patientswere enrolled upon satisfaction of a set criteria. Assessment of their demographicdata, clinical presentation and common complications following keloidectomy and serial triamcinolone injections was carried out. Data was enteredin a questionnaire and analysed. RESULTS Theyoungest patient was twelve years old and the oldest fifty nine years with themean age of presentation being 28.28 years. The male to female ratio was 1:2.3. Majority of the keloids (74%) were in the head and neck region. Trauma was the commonest underlying cause in 43 (86%)ofthe patients.en
