dc.description.abstract | This research is an investigation into the assessment of the abilities measured by different methods of testing science achievement. A comparison of abilities required for answering questions of the conventional essay type and the objective multiple- choice type is made in Physics and Chemistry. The system of examinations in Britain, from which Kenya obtained her system is surveyed and a review is made of the advantages and disadvantages of conventional and objective examinations. The objectives of science teaching are viewed in the light of recent research into different types of examinations in science. | en |
