dc.description.abstractA preliminary report of 50 cases of acute pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) studied at the Kenyatta National Hospital to find out the role of chlamydia trachomatis in its aetiology is presented. Endocervical swab cultures were done. There were 2/50 (4.0%) cases positive for chlamydia trachomatis. The role of this pathogen in the aetiology of acute PID is discussed.en
