dc.description.abstractThis research project sought to investigate factors influencing the completion of CDF projects in secondary schools in Rongo District. The study was guided by four objectives: To explore how fund disbursement influences completion of CDP projects in secondary schools; To investigate how monitoring and evaluation influences completion of CDP projects in secondary schools; To establish how management discipline influences completion of CDP projects in secondary schools and lastly To examine influence of project team members on completion of CDP projects in secondary schools in Rongo District. It brought out findings that would be used in sensitizing the Migori county of Kenya regarding project management. The immediate beneficiaries will include project managers in their leadership in project management process, project management committees in their role in projects on-going evaluation process and linkage, political leaders in fostering projects accountability and actual beneficiaries such as the schools. The study was guided by the classical theory of management by functions based on Henri Fayol's Administrative Management Approach. The study was a descriptive survey that targeted a population of all Project Management Committee members in 40 secondary schools. The research instrument was a questionnaire for Project Management Committees (PMCs) in the secondary schools. Descriptive statistics was employed in data analysis and data presented using frequency tables and percentages. The study established that fund disbursement, monitoring and evaluation, management discipline and project team members influenced completion of projects.
