This study set out to assess factors that affect youth community based organization in Kimilili-Bungoma District such as, funding, capacity building, educational level and infrastructural facilities. Different studies have been conducted in different parts of the world in regard to youths and community based organizations as indicated in the literature reviews of this study yet they have failed to raise the issue of CBO growth and factors affecting it particularly in Kimilili - Bungoma District. The target population comprised of 13 CBOs in the district run by youths. The sample size was 115 members from 13 CBOs of which 96 filled the questionnaires fully and returned them. Perceived conceptual framework was used in the study to show the relationship . between the dependent variables and the independent variables. One questionnaire was used for data collection and the received data was arranged, summarized and analyzed descriptively. It was described using frequencies, tables and percentages. The study revealed that growth of Youth CBOs is majorly influenced by funding problems whereby funds from donors are mostly delayed, misappropriated or inadequate. Second to this factor is poor infrastructural facilities such as poor roads and communication facilities, poor and inadequate use of ICT, and lack of offices. Lack of training and low levels of education were among the other factors that influence YCBOs in Kimilili-Bungoma district. It's therefore recommended that the government comes in strongly to fund, train, in-service youths, create ICT centres in rural areas, primary and secondary schools, check on registration of CBOs, and carry out audits of CBOs to promote their growth. The findings of this data are expected to be utilized by the ministry of state for National heritage, culture and social development. Ministry Of Gender and youth, among others to address the mitigating factors that work against the growth of Youth CBO's in Kenya. It will also contribute to the body of knowledge.en_US
