The need of Kenyan urban centers to undertake their respective planning function while putting in mind the requirements of various stakeholders has become important, especially in the current decentralization of government functions to the counties. The Kenya Vision 2030 recognizes the critical role the small scale entrepreneurs are expected to play in the realization of the country's' vision of become a medium earner country by the year 2030. It is therefore for this reason that the general objective of this study is to investigate the influence that urban planning has on entrepreneurial growth. A descriptive research design was adopted in the study in order to analyze the multiple variables involved. Stratified random sampling technique was used in order to capture data of from a sample of staff of the County Council of Olkejuado, while simple random sampling technique was employed in administering the research instruments to a sample of individual entrepreneurs operating in Kitengela Township. The data collection tool was the questionnaire that was divided into six sections namely: personal profile of the respondents; general information about town planning; land control policies; housing regulatory framework; road infrastructure and environment management and; entrepreneurial growth. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics with assistance of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) which described trends, positive and negative correlation, comparison between results and agreement or disagreement with expected outcomes. The output is presented in terms of pie charts, graphs, frequency tables and reports. The study found out that urban land use control, housing regulatory framework, provision of road infrastructure and environmental management indeed influences entrepreneurial growth. The study concludes that because of growing pressure on services in urban areas there is need for decentralization programs and controls to be put in place to effectively respond to factors influencing entrepreneurial growth. Based on the fmdings, it is recommended that the central government, local authorities and the private sector to recognize the important role played by entrepreneurs in economic growth and ensure that urban plans are put in place and legislation is developed in a way that facilitate the delivery of services and apply it in a manner the promotes entrepreneurial growth.en_US
