The constituency development fund was established way back in 2003 through an Act of Parliament. It is one of the devolved funds that are allocated or districts for development of projects. The funds were aimed at improving living standards to the concerned communities and boaster the development initiatives. The study is to assess the factors that influence the success of constituency development funded projects in Mochongoi division of Baringo Central Constituency. The variables under this study include organizational structure design, transparency and accountability, monitoring and evaluation and the extent in which equitable distribution of resources is exercised. This study used descriptive survey design. The target population was the C.D.F project management committee members. The size sample comprised of 113 CDF committee members from three Locations. The questionnaires were piloted to improve their validity. The collected data was coded and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings revealed that most of the projects were not completed. It was established that the committee members met at several occasions, when money had been disbursed and in the process of budgeting. Tenders were awarded by the tender committee; some of the projects were hampered with political problems. A good representation in the management and involved in proposing the projects was observed. On the extent to which equity influenced the success of CDF funded projects. It was established that majority of the committee members were appointed via election. The findings of the study concluded that most of the projects had not been completed due to lack of money to complete the projects. The committee members were happy with the budgeting and how money 'had been spent. The study also concluded that the monies allocated were not the amount that had been proposed for the projects. However there were cases where members were appointed by the area Member of Parliament, councilor and by the local chief. The findings of the study recommended that the CDF committee should have a time frame for their meeting so as to deliberate of the issues pertaining the projects. The CDF committees should be free of interference from the politicians so that they can work effectively. The government to be prompt when disbursing money that the committees have proposed for effective running of the projects and the community should be involved in the budgeting. The study suggested that a study on the relationship between the level of education of the committee members and its influence on the management of CDF projects should be conducted and the influence of political interference on the management of CDF projects.en_US
