dc.description.abstractThis research report sought to establish the factors influencing the completion of LA TF funded projects in Transmara county council. Narok County. The researcher looked into the significance of the study its limitations and delimitations. basic assumptions and the definition of significant terms used in the variables of the study. The review of the related literature to the variables under study was also looked upon. The aim of literature review was to establish the foundation for the study and identify a framework upon which the primary data was contextualized and interpreted The researcher used a survey design for data collection from a target population of 50,923 households of the community members in Transmara district Stratified sampling was used; the eight divisions were the strata. Sample size was 381 according to Morgan's table for determining sample size for a given population. From the sample size, purposive sampling was done to select key informants who were the officials of TCC. Validity and Reliability of the instruments of research were done by pilot testing and test-retest techniques respectively. Data was administered after obtaining permission from the Ministry of Higher Education; National Council Science and Technology (department of research). In chapter four the researcher looked at the demographic information of the respondents. gender of the respondents. age brackets of the Respondents and Educational level of the respondents and analyzed the questionnaires on the factors influencing the completion ofLATF funded projects; influence of the level offunding, influence of councilors towards projects initiated by their predecessors, allocation of funds compared to the estimated cost of the project. influence of community participation. ways of encouraging community participation, why most LATF projects are not completed as planned. influence of education in the implementation of T A TF funded projects. information on LA TF.LA TF as a participatory fund, importance of information, criterion for selecting LASDAP members. involvement in LASDAP meetings. incidences where politics has led to non-completion of projects, fairness in distribution of LA TF funds, approaching political interference and ranking the outcomes of the discussed factors from the highest to the lowest In chapter five the researcher looked at the summary of the findings; that majority of the respondents were male signifying gender imbalance. politics, level of funding lack of education were among factors found to be the barriers to projects implementation. The study recommended that the level of funding be improved; sensitizing the beneficiaries of LA TF projects. review of the framework for fiscal decentralization and suggested further research on politicians role in projects implementation and the influence of education in the implementation ofLATF funded projects.en_US
