dc.description.abstractThe research project presents influence of Education and Training in management on performance of youth development projects in kosirai division Nandi north district. It outlines how various education and training in management are carried out globally and regionally in countries like: Brazil, Australia, Asia, Namibia and KenyaFailure of many youth projects in Nandi North in comparisson to the neighbouring district Eldoret East and the use of apprenticeship over use of educational and training in management skills forms the statement of the problem. The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of education and training on performance of youth development projects in Kosirai division Nandi North. The study was guided by the following objectives: did establish the influence of demographic characteristic on performance of youth development funded projects,It examined how education and training in financial management was influencing youth development funded projects, It investigated how education and training in management of human resource influences performance of youth development funded projects and lastly it examined the extent to which education and training in planning influence performance of youth development projects. The research project presents literature that relates to the four themes of the study and was guided by the business lifecycle approach as the theoretical framework. The study was conducted using the Expostfacto design which was used so as to predict certain behaviours that exists in respondents in Nandi North youth development projects.The target population was consisting of 816 members of youth development funded projects spread out in Kosirai division,basing on Krejcie and Morgan table a sample size of 260 was selected, proportionate sampling was used to get the number of groups to be sampled in each location and random sampling was then used to sample groups in each location, all members of the sampled groups were then given quetionairres. Questionairre was research instrument used to collect data and its reliability was tested using Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Pilot testing was carried out and correction done on the instument, data was collected was arranged, coded and analysed using excel and computerised based program. The findings found were: Demographic characteristics have a significant influence on the performance of youth funded projects basing on the chi square test. While education and training in planning , human resource and financial management was having a influence but administering chi square test they were found not to be significant.summary of the findings, conclusion,Suggestions for further study and recommendations to the various stakeholders involved in the study was done.en_US
