dc.description.abstractThe research proposal has been prompted by minimal youth participation in Community Based Projects (CBPs) in Kasipul Kabondo. The youths in the constituency constitutes 60% on the total population in Kasipul Kabondo (Census report 2009). Their participation in CBPs is crucial for the constituency to develop rapidly. The study therefore sought to investigate factors influencing Community Based Projects Kasipul-Kabondo constituency; it attempted to identify the extent to which education, employment, leadership and access to information influenced youth participation in the constituency. The objectives of the study sought to investigate the extent to which education, employment, leadership and access to information influenced youth participation in CBPs in Kasipul - Kabondo Constituency. The study used descriptive survey employing questionnaires and interviews to collect data from the sample size of253 youths in Kasipul- Kabondo picked from a population of 1240. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages. Education level played a key role in youth participation in the constituency (56%), employment (73%), leadership (31 %) and access to information (66%). The CBPs in the constituency requires support from the government and donors to strengthen the role of the constituency.en_US
