| dc.description.abstract | The study sought to establish the influence of Catholic Church projects on socio-economic development in Nyamache district, Kisii County; Kenya. The researcher applied descriptive survey research design. The target population comprised the entire 20,000 (Twenty thousand) households in Nyamache district who had directly or indirectly benefited from the socio- economic projects initiated by the Catholic Church in the fields of education, health, spirituality and infrastructure.
The study used four research questions to answer the objectives. The first research question sought to get information on the influence of Catholic education projects on socio-economic development in Nyamache district. The second question established influence of Catholic health projects on socio-economic development and the third helped gather information on the influence of Catholic spiritual activities on socio-economic development and the last one on the influence of Catholic initiated infrastructure on socio-economic development of society.
The research instruments used were questionnaires. The data analysis was done by use of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS}programme. The results generated were presented in form of frequency tables and percentages. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data, interpretation and discussion of findings were done. A summary of the findings of the study discussions, conclusions, recommendations . and suggestions for further research were highlighted. | en_US |
