dc.description.abstractThe objective this report is to provide a design of a micro computer system to be used by the University of Nairobi bookshop. Since the bookshop was opened it has been running on a mainly annual system with only the ledger cards for credit for credit accounts of students having a semblance to automation ( they use OLIVETTI AUDIT 140E MACHINE ). The project that forms the basis of this paper is geared towards introducing computer usage to the bookshop so as to eliminate the problem of currently being faced by the bookshop staff due to the shortcoming of the present annual system. This report is divided into four chapters. The first chapter presents a review of the system being presently used at the bookshop. Chapter two highlights the problems faced and present s a possible solution. Chapter three presents the results of the system design effort and chapter four, the conclusion, presents a recommendation as to what can be done to improve the system at the bookshop.en
