The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of CDF on development of public schools in Kinango district. The study was conducted in five secondary schools in Kinango district. Literature on student enrollment was reviewed and a conceptual framework developed to guide the study. Data was collected from 100 students, 25 teachers and 5 head teachers. The collected data was quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed. The findings revealed that the impact of CDF was visible on the ground and had contributed to improved enrollment of students in secondary schools. The funds were also utilized in payment of fees for most needy and bright students. In light of the findings it is recommended that the government should come up with a clear policy or mechanism to trace and fully account for all the CDF and those involved in corrupt deals be prosecuted. The study concludes with recommendation for further research on enrollment trends from a wider perspective.en_US
