| dc.description.abstract | Entrepreneurial activities are seen in almost all sectors, including education sector. A number of Public Primary Schools within the Municipal Council of Nakuru have initiated entrepreneurial projects in schools, whose success have not been empirically studied. The study sought to generate deeper understanding of factors that influence Performance of Entrepreneurial Projects in Public Primary Schools Municipal Council of Nakuru more specifically the study sought to investigate the extent to which management skills of head teachers influence the PEP in Public Schools; It also seeks to establish the extent to which organizational design influence the PEPﾷ . Public Schools; and to establish the level of decision making autonomy of the head teacher in project team and how it influences the PEPin public Primary Schools MCN. However the PEP in Public Primary Schools within Municipality Council of Nakuru, appeared have been faced with challenges.
The study adopted a descriptive survey design which targeted 60 Public Primary Schools and sampled 52 Public Primary Schools within the MCN who were involved in the study. Purposive sampling was used to samplethe selected 52 Public Primary Schools that had implemented entrepreneurial projet. A questionnaire was used in this study to collect data from the institutional head teachers. Data collected was coded to allow for quantitative analysis using descriptive statistics. The findings are. Presented in tables with frequencies, percentage and mean generated through SSP.
The findings of the study showed that management skills of the leaders lacked effective business skills to enable the managers implement income generating activities which has adverse influence on project performance in schools. The Head teachers expressed that motivational skills was somehow important this had negative impact on projects since some stakeholders did not support the projects. According to the findings the managers were reluctant towards delegation of duties thus a few stakeholders were involved in project development this interfered with the structure organization.
The decision miling of the departmental heads ,!as not included in the project performance most managers did not share the task with teachers for fear of administrative issues. The main recommendation include government funding to support the entrepreneurial projects in public primary school for effective performance, enhancing the managers ability to establish well organized project structures and to adopt measures towards making decision with the stake holders. Suggestions have been made for further research to establish head teachers attitude towards entrepreneurial projects and how it dose influence performance of various projects. | en_US |
