dc.description.abstractThis research report was prompted by minimal youth participating in community based projects (CBPs) in Kehancha Division, Migori County. This report looked at the influence of Socio- Cultural and information access factors on youth participation in community based projects in Kehancha Division. The purpose of the study was to examine the socio-cultural factors and information access influence on youth participation in community based projects in Kehancha Division.The objectives of the study will was to determine the extent to which accessibility to information, leadership, employment opportunities and cultural practices influence participation of the youth in CBPs. The significance of the study is that youth unemployment as well as crimes associated with the youth can only be eradicated if the youth are engaged accordingly in community based projects where they can exploit their potentials. The theoretical framework in this study provides a justification and logical basis for the participation of the youth in communitybased projects underpinned on the participatory development theory.The study used descriptive survey that is it employed questionnaires and interviews to collect data from the sample size of 170 youth in Kehancha Division picked from a population to 850 youth. Data will was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies and percentages.en_US
