dc.description.abstractSecondary trauma is commonly referred to as "the stress resulting from helping or wanting to help a traumatized or suffering person. Figley (1995) Objective The specific objectives of the study will be to determine the prevalence rate of secondary stress disorder among students of nursing at KMTC campus and investigate socio demographic factors of the respondents Study design This was a cross sectional descriptive study Study Population and sampling method The students of nursing participated in the study. Only the students who have worked in the clinical area were interviewed. Sample population was 90 students which is 10% of the population and systematic random sampling was used to identify the respondents. Data analysis Data was analyzed using SPSS version 17.0; descriptive statistics was used and data presented in tables, pie charts and graph Instruments A structured socio-demographic questionnaire and Secondary Traumatic Stress Scale instrument were used to asses for secondary traumatic stress.en_US
