dc.description.abstractPrimary Education Learners fail in school for a variety of reasons. In some cases, their academic difficulties can be directly attributed to deficiencies in the teaching and developmental learning activities. These difficulties may become more serious over time if instruction is not modified to address the students' specific needs. Unless these students receive appropriate intervention, they will continue to struggle and the gap between their achievement and that of their peers will widen over time. The main purpose of the study will be to establish the challenges affecting learning activities of primary school learners in Wajir County. The study will be guided by the following specific objectives:To examine the effect of economic related challenges on learning activities among primary school learners in Wajir County; To examine the effect of religion related challenges on learning activities among primary school learners of pastoralists communitiesin Wajir County; To assess the effect of Environmental related challenges on learning activities among primary school learners of pastoralists communities in Wajir County and to determine the effect of government policy related challenges on learning activities among primary school learners of pastoralists‟ communities in Wajir County. The research will adopt descriptive survey design. The target population will compose of all primary teachers in public primary schools in Wajir County. There are a total of 81public primary schools in Wajir County. To select the participants, stratified, simple random and purposive sampling techniques will be used to select the sample. A total of 74Participants will be selected comprising of 34 Head teachers and 40 primary school teachers. Questionnaire and Interview schedule will be used to obtain primary data from the sampled population. Quantitative data collected will be analysed using descriptive statistical techniques which will be frequencies, mean, standard deviation. Qualitative data will be categorized and reported in emergent themes; the findings will be presented by use of frequency distribution tables that give record of a number of times a score or a response occurs.en_US
