dc.description.abstractWell-structured ICT strategy is the backbone that will enable organisations to deliver serviceseffectively and efficiently, helping the organization reach more people and ultimately do more with their money. In this regard, organizations all over the world have realized the need to embrace strategic management that involves the employment of ICT to attain a competitive advantage in pursuit of set objectives. Due to this realisation, a number of parastatals in Kenya have adopted the use and implementation of ICT programmes in their departments. Though challenges have faced the implementation of this ICT programmes in the country for some times now and this is the issue the research has sought to address by concentrating on the factors influencing ICT projects implementation by KRA. The aim of the research therefore was to, investigate the factors influencing the implementation of information communication technology programmes in Kenya Revenue Authority; a case study of Kenya Revenue Authority, Mombasa bureau.The objectives of the study included:To establish the influence of financial resources in the implementation of Information Communication Technology programmes in KRA Mombasa branch, To establish the influence to which ICT infrastructure have on the implementation of Information Communication Technology programmes in KRA Mombasa branch, to establishthe influence the management have on the implementation of Information Communication Technology programmes in KRA Mombasa branch, and, to establish the influence the organizational structure have on the implementation of Information Communication Technology programmes in KRA, Mombasa branch.The study employed a survey research design, since it was an in-depth investigation of an individual group of respondents. The questioners were used as the main source of gathering information from selected 68respondents that cut a cross categories like top managers, middle managers and lower managers.Out the 68 questionnaires issued, 65 were returned and this is what made our study population. Data was interpreted and presented in the form of tables and frequency tables. From the responses in the field, the factors stated in the questionnaire as per the objectives had a significance influence in the implementation of the ICT projects. This was statistically proven to be true by the values of calculated Chi-square that were greater than the critical Chi-square value of 9.488 at 95% confidence level and 4 degrees of freedom. In the summary of findings and conclusions in chapter five, the research has had a number of scholars who were in agreement with the field findings that the stated factors in the objectives and questionnaire had an influence in the implementation of ICT projects. The researcher has included suggestions for further studies that include, investigating socio-economic factors influencing the implementation of ICT projects in Mombasa’s KRA Branch.en_US
