dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the research was to investigate the factors that influence the implementation of WEF in Kasarani Constituency. In chapter one the researcher looked at the background of the study in which the position of Women entrepreneurship in Africa and the rest of the world and finally in Kenya was analysed. The objectives of the study were to identify social cultural, economic, technological and political factors that influence implementation of WEF. In chapter two the researcher carried out an extensive review Literature related to the topic in question and in line with the objectives of the study. Some areas of interest that came up included culture and customs, gender division of labour, availability and accessibility of funds, ICT skills and facilities. The study was based on Feminist theory of Betty Friedan 1963. On research methodology the researcher used descriptive survey design with a target population of 140 respondents. Using Krejcie and Morgan Table 1970 the researcher came up with the sample size of 103 respondents. The sample was determined using stratified random sampling from the wards of Kasarani Constituency including Kasarani, Mwiki, Ruai and Clay City. Questionnaires were the preferred tools for data collection with both open and closed ended questions being used. Secondary data was also used from the reports, records and journals from the WEF offices. Reliability of the research tools was verified through Test and Re – Test method. To ensure confidentiality the researcher assured the respondents of confidentiality verbally and also asked them not to write their names on the questionnaires. The data was then analysed using SPSS package and presented using frequency tables, cross tabulation and descriptive statistics. The research findings were then analysed and discusseden_US
