dc.description.abstractThis project has discussed analysis of the influence of Mother Tongue on English performance in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education: A case of Ndhiwa sub county, Homa Bay County, Kenya. The researcher has used philosophical analysis to analyze the factors that make the transition from Mother Tongue to second language (English) difficult. The role of mind in the acquisition of English language is also analyzed critically.The researcher has also put forward ideas that can lead to improvement of performance in English, when learners use it as a second language. This analysis is in line with the philosophy of idealism and conceptual framework on the use of the mind to enhance performance in English in K.C.P.E. The major findings and contributions of this research to education are also analyzed. Ultimately, the project ends with summary, conclusions and recommendations.en_US
