Corporate Culture and Organizational Performance at Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust (Mespt)
Abstract
Corporate culture is a crucial aspect of organizational success as it shapes how employees behave,
interact with each other, and work towards common goals. Where corporate culture has been well
incorporated in the firm’s activities, the top management of the firm find it easy to manage
operations and develop success in activities. Corporate culture is important for success and
performance of organizations because it helps to shape the values, beliefs, and behavior of
employees. Guided by the theories of Edgar Schein's model of organizational culture, stakeholder
theory, and contingency theory, the research was conducted through a case study approach, and
the title of the study was corporate culture and organizational performance at Micro Enterprises
Support programme Trust. The objective of the study was to determine the influence of corporate
culture on the organizational performance of Micro Enterprises Support Programme Trust. The
information in the study was collected using interview method. Specifically, face to face interview
was adopted in this inquiry. Data were gathered from 25 respondents within the organization, and
content analysis was employed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that Micro Enterprises
Support Programme Trust's corporate culture significantly influenced various dimensions of
organizational performance. The culture emphasized results, collaboration, and alignment with the
organization's mission and values, contributing to enhanced employee performance and job
satisfaction. However, the study also identified challenges related to work-life balance and limited
career growth opportunities that need to be addressed. The organization's culture was found to be
well-aligned with its mission and values, with leadership commitment, consistent communication,
and policy integration playing a pivotal role in fostering this alignment. The results also confirmed
that corporate culture is associated with high success in the firm since it promotes setting of good
work symbols, promote leadership supports as well as help management to guide the workers and
align with the firm set goals. The study concluded that Micro Enterprises Support Programme
Trust's corporate culture plays a vital role in shaping the overall work environment and
organizational performance. The study recommends fostering a balanced work-life culture and
creating clear career growth paths to address the identified challenges. Policy makers are advised
to promote a culture of work-life balance through labor regulations and initiatives that prioritize
employee well-being. Future research could focus on longitudinal studies to assess the long-term
impact of interventions and explore the influence of external factors on the relationship between
corporate culture and organizational performance in Non-Governmental Organizations like Micro
Enterprises Support Programme Trust.
